Abstract

Abstract. Ukraine’s agriculture, vital to its economy, is challenged by war. Small producers and large agribusinesses differ in market access, technology, and financial resources. Small producers, focusing on local markets and self-sufficiency and using 45% of agricultural land in 2021, produce the most of plant and animal production for internal consumption in Ukraine. Despite wartime disruptions, small producers remain crucial for key agricultural products, highlighting their importance in maintaining food security.
