Abstract

This paper analyses the direction of aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU standards in the agricultural sector. It highlights the necessity of supporting small agricultural producers and farmers, emphasizing the conditions established in the EU. Cross Compliance is an instrument ensuring basic environmental protection standards within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the EU. Key challenges for EU agricultural policy include addressing environmental issues and maintaining the sustainability of farming operations. The document underscores the importance of Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions (GAEC) standards in ensuring environmental compliance and provides a detailed overview of the implementation of these standards at the member state level in the EU.
