Abstract

У навчальному посібнику розкрито значення екологічної токсикології як міждисциплінарної галузі наук про навколишнє середовище, яка використовує широкий арсенал знань природничих і точних наук для створення своєї теоретичної бази, термінології, завдань та методів дослідження. Висвітлено історичний розвиток цієї науки та сучасні міжнародні підходи визначення токсикантів та оцінки екологічного ризику. Нині екологічна токсикологія сформувала сукупність даних про вплив та поведінку екотоксикантів в об’єктах навколишнього середовища, у популяціях та спільнотах наземних та водних екосистем. Ця важлива інформація лежить в основі фундаментальних досліджень функціонування біосистем в умовах екотоксикологічного стресу, оцінювання стану систем методами біоіндикації та біотестування, розроблення заходів регулювання екотоксикантів у межах визначеного впливу на навколишнє середовище. Важливе місце має багатовекторний характер екотоксикологічних досліджень, їх взаємодії з іншими галузями науки і техніки та внесок у вирішення екологічних проблем сучасності. Рекомендовано для здобувачів вищої освіти спеціальностей «Екологія» і «Технології захисту навколишнього середовища», викладачів вищих навчальних закладів, науково-дослідних установ. This textbook explores the significance of environmental toxicology as an interdisciplinary branch of environmental science, which draws on a wide range of knowledge from the natural and exact sciences to establish its theoretical framework, terminology, objectives and research methods. It covers the historical development of this science and contemporary international approaches to identifying toxicants and assessing environmental risk. Today, environmental toxicology has built up a body of data on the effects and behaviour of ecotoxicants in environmental compartments, and in populations and communities within terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. This important information forms the basis for fundamental research into the functioning of biosystems under ecotoxicological stress, the assessment of system status using bioindication and biotesting methods, and the development of measures to regulate ecotoxicants within defined limits of environmental impact. Of particular importance is the multidisciplinary nature of ecotoxicological research, its interaction with other fields of science and technology, and its contribution to solving contemporary environmental problems. Recommended for students of higher education specialising in ‘Ecology’ and ‘Environmental Protection Technologies’, as well as for lecturers at higher education institutions and research organisations.
