Дисертація на здобуття наукового ступеня кандидата економічних наук за спеціальністю 08.00.04 – економіка та управління підприємствами (за видами економічної діяльності). – Національний університет біоресурсів і природокористування України, Київ, 2015.
Дисертація присвячена дослідженню теоретичних, методологічних та практичних аспектів формування і забезпечення економічної безпеки сільськогосподарських підприємств. Розкрито та уточнено сутність поняття «економічна безпека функціонування сільськогосподарських підприємств». Поглиблено методичні підходи до оцінки рівня економічної безпекифункціонування сільськогосподарських підприємств за інтегральним показником.
Проведено аналіз стану та тенденцій економічної безпеки сільськогоспо-дарських підприємств в залежності від спеціалізації виробництва, з використанням її інтегрального показника. Визначено взаємозв’язок секторів та інтегрального показника економічної безпеки функціонування сільськогосподарських підприємств.
Визначено резерви підвищення економічної безпеки функціонування сільськогосподарських підприємств. Складено матрицю вибору стратегії формування економічної безпеки підприємств. Розроблено дескриптивну модель забезпечення економічної безпеки функціонування сільськогосподарських підприємств

Dissertation for obtaining scientific degree of Candidate of Economic Science on specialty 08.00.04. – Economics and Management of Enterprises (according to the types of economic activities). – National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2015.
Based on the study and generalization of Ukrainian and foreign scientific literature sources, the thesis elaborates on the essence of the concept of economic security of agricultural enterprises, which allows defining it as a state of the economic system of an enterprise in which the efficient use of resources ensures its stable development, creating conditions for maximizing and realizing the existing potential, adaptability to market conditions, high competitive position according to the entity’s mission taking into account the industrial specifics of functioning under transitive conditions of uncertainty and risk. It identifies preconditions for the development of the definition analyzed through systematizing its evolution in the aspect of political economy with a depth-in analysis of fundamental economic schools and trends. It also improves the structure of the concept through specifying its logistics component envisaging the optimization of the relationship of agricultural enterprises with suppliers and intermediaries in the supply chain of raw materials and finished products, aimed at finding mutually beneficial conditions that can increase the level of economic security of the entity.
The thesis extends the principles of forming economic security of agricultural enterprises with the eventuality principle that provides considering specific features of regional development at every stage of performance of the entity to reach its optimal level and effective functioning. It develops the methodology for assessing the level of economic security of agricultural enterprises by an integrated indicator that reflects such sectors as financial independence, performance efficiency, capacity for development, bankruptcy probability, competitiveness, which will allow ensuring the quality of diagnosis through positioning the entity according to the level of its potential (critical, low, average, high level). Each sector is filled with criteria indicators, and their assessment makes it possible to determine their condition.The study analyzes the state and trends of economic security of agricultural enterprises according to the method developed. It estimates the state of economic security of farms depending on the type of economic activity, which allows specifying the impact of its components on the level of economic security and determining meaningful adaptive benchmarks in internal and external environment. As a result, correlation and regression analysis reveal the relationship between the integral indicator of economic security of agricultural enterprises and its components. It is found that the most direct link exists in the sector of financial independence and bankruptcy probability (correlation coefficient of 0.7887 and 0.7826, respectively). An inverse correlation is in the sector of functioning and competitiveness.
In 2011–2013, in crop production enterprises, the integrated index was 0.626 points, which is 10.1 % less than in the livestock industry and 2.6 % less than in mixed farming. The data obtained allow classifying their economic security as average. The livestock industry was characterized by higher levels of performance efficiency (0.537 points). Mixed farms had a strong position in the sectors of competitiveness (0.459) and capacity for development (1.413), although in the sectors of performance efficiency and financial independence the results were lower than in businesses of other categories. The highest result in the crop production was in the sector of bankruptcy probability and financial independence (1.758 and 0.745, respectively).
Overall, throughout 2011–2013, the level of the integral index of economic security of the sample enterprises indicated the presence of negative trends for the economic entities in agriculture Kherson region, which is 16.4 %, or 0.123 points. The results received in 2011–2013 correspond to the average classification level of their economic security.
The study determines conceptual foundations of raising the economic security of agricultural enterprises in the following areas: finance, competitiveness, management, innovative development, personnel policy, logistics, diversification, etc. It forms and substantiates the organizational and economic mechanism of state support for the economic security of agricultural enterprises. It lies in carrying out administrative (in terms of the introduction of public contracts, import restrictions, better control over compliance with legislation, etc.), financial (by restoring state programs of leasing and refinancing, investment incentives, etc.) and managerial (through the establishment of regional insurance funds, introduction of state monitoring of economic security, strengthening quality control of production, etc.) measures.
The thesis provides a matrix of the choice of strategy of forming the economic security of agricultural enterprises, which determines the most appropriate type of strategy due to the positioning of the entity in the matrix quadrants depending on the current state of economic security and strategy life. This allows optimizing the level of economic security through a certain range of actions. To enhance the economic security of farms, it also provides a standardized Program on ensuring the economic security of agricultural enterprises that focuses on the balance of opportunities and needs of the entity, and describes the main provisions of forming the conditions and avoiding the violation of economic security.
The formation of an effective descriptive model of economic security plays a significant role in solving the existing problems of the functioning of agriculturalenterprises. It is developed on the correlation interaction of its main elements and focuses on the introduction of the organizational and economic mechanism of state support, risk management mechanism, incorporation of exogenous and endogenous factors, functional components and the principles of economic security. The descriptive model developed is based on the positioning of agricultural enterprises in the quadrants of the matrix of forming economic security and takes into account the potential for raising the level of economic security, which is consolidated through the implementation of the program of economic security.
The research results show that the practical implementation of the proposed measures will provide a high level of economic security of agricultural enterprises, which is a prerequisite for competitiveness, financial independence and sustainability of agricultural enterprises, and will indirectly, through business entities, create conditions for food and national security
